Basswood Lodge started in 1997 as a family run business and continues to be today. Everyone on my team is a part of my extended family. We are truly blessed to live this life and we take nothing for granted. I grew up hunting, fishing, and trapping the marshes and rivers of the St. Lawrence River Valley. From a young age my parents taught me the value of a good days work. I have taken this mentality and applied it to everything I have done in life. We own a lot of ground and have exclusive access to the most productive ground that exists here. I expect everyone on my team to have the same work ethic I have. I can promise you no grass grows between our toes while trying to give you the experience you came here to get. I have built a crew of professional waterfowl guides who take every aspect of the business as seriously as I do. Not many outfitters these days have as much skin in the game as we do.

Experience Overview

Our spring turkey hunting runs through the month of May. Our area of New York is truly special because we have the St. Lawrence River Valley and the Adirondack Mountains molding together. We offer different types of turkey hunting, everything from blinds over decoys in well scouted areas, to running and gunning the ridge tops of the foothills of the mountains. We can also get you into birds inside the blue line of the Adirondack Park. St. Lawrence County kills more turkeys than any other county in New York State. Over a 3 day hunt you can harvest 2 birds, 1 bird per day. All turkey hunts occur a half hour before sunrise until noon, by law.
