Spot & Stalk moose hunt in the Talkeetna Range in Alaska (Unit 13 & 14) The hunt is an 11-day trip and is either conducted on a high mountain lake or down low on a river bottom. The hunt consists of alot of blind calling and sitting and waiting for bulls to respond to calls. Mountain lake hunters could expect shots up to 300 yards while river hunters under 150 yards. All hunts are tent based out of 10x10 basecamp tents and we bring small backpacking spike tents as well for being mobile and moving camp spots if needed. Terrian can be quite swampy so you will need both hip wading boots, or wading pants as well as 12" or taller waterproof hiking boots. We eat a combination of "Home Cooked meals" and freeze dried. Each person also gets 40L dry bag of snacks as well. (protein bars, granola bars, energy bars & gels, dried fruits, candy, hot chocolate, coffee, tea etc.)
